Samrat Ashok Technological Institute (SATI) is a Grant-in-Aid Autonomous college in Vidisha in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It was established by Late Maharaja Jiwajirao Scindia on 1 November 1960, with a donation from Gangajali Trust fund. It is an autonomous institute, which is fully funded by Government of Madhya Pradesh and managed by the Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Education Society chaired by Hon’ble Shrimant Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia.

Now, SATI is academically and administratively an autonomous institute, however it is a part of the Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya also known as RGPV Bhopal from 1998 and its degree issued by the university.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at S.A.T.I was established in the year 1987 with an intake of 30 student seats of Bachelor of Engineering in CSE. In year 2000 the intake of BE CSE program has been increased to 60. After the merger of BE Information Technology with BE CSE the intake has been increased to 120 in the year 2017-2018.
